There are three parts to the skills assessments. This is a paper and pencil exercise, and you may write code in your choice of C, C++, Pascal, FORTRAN, BASIC, Visual BASIC or JAVA. The assessments are about logic and problem solving, not syntax, so if you forget a specific programming language syntax during the test, it's acceptable to use pseudo code. The assessments are not something you can or should even try to study for. In short, the assessments are actually pretty straight forward. The first 20 questions are a logic based expression evaluation set. They just tell you about a set of operators (like +, -, >, < but more string based) and then ask you what expressions you would evaluate under these assumptions. The next section is a set of 3 programming examples. These are also pretty straight forward and involve you writing actual code to solve the problem. Nothing too tricky, and the goal is to see how you employ a computer language to solve a problem. The last question is just like one of the previous three, but a bit more involved and it takes a bit more time.
