Wow! Супруга моя почти 20 лет назад работала на нем пару лет. Если мне не изменяет память, то
- MUMPS - среда программирования для создания инф.систем в до-SQL-ную эру
- Была очень распространена на мини-ЭВМ (PDP11 & Co)
- Абревиатура имеет какое-то отношение к Массачусеттсу и медицине (АСУ какого-то тамошнего госпиталя?)
- Имела хождение в СССР

Да, в MUMPS первая буква означает Массачусетс .
Сейчас одна из поддерживаемых версий называется Cache, можно взять вот тут

Вообще-то спрашивал не для себя - у знакомого на интервью спросили об этой программе. Дело происходит в Израиле, похоже, кроме его возможного работодателя, про MUMPS никто не слышал.

I was responsible for maintaining two databases that are written in MUMPS
using The Veterans Administration's software called Fileman. One database
is called CDMIS, which is used for Chemical Dependency data. The other
database is called MH/SS, which is used for Mental Health/Social Service
data. One of the major projects that I worked on was merging the two
databases in to one database called Behavioral Health Module. I created a
report with multiple formats for the MH/SS database.

RPMS is a collection of applications written in MUMPS using The Veterans
Administration's database management system called Fileman running on AIX
UNIX. My duties included adding new users to the system and determining
what privileges they should have. I helped to train new employees and I
created a self-teaching document for RPMS. If a new laboratory or
registration device needed to be linked via automation; something went
wrong with the database; or backups needed to be done then I had to make
sure the task was completed.

Veterans Administrations DBMS Fileman. I programmed and modified MUMPS
programs written using Fileman.

I designed, programmed, tested as well as investigated and corrected issues with applications related to their hierarchical database written in Open-M MUMPS called FACS. This database is used by the medical, debt collection, and other industries.

There are four levels in the project life cycle at Ontario Systems Corporation. I have experience in the first three. I designed, programmed, and peer reviewed projects. The fourth is functionality review. I created several roll-and-scroll, painted, and auto-generated MUMPS windows. I programmed and maintained a variety of insurance and demographic maintenance applications using MUMPS. I had created several healthcare related reports with various formats. I had designed, programmed, and tested a report maintenance application for a debt collection agency that purchased FACS.

Она до сих пор используется в крупных морских портах.

Вы будете смеяться, но одна из крупнейших компаний, которая делает софт для medical recording,
до сих пор использует MUMPS.
