Помогите пожалуйста!
Я в этом году заканчиваю биологический факультет университета МГУ им. Ломоносова и хотела бы уехать в США поработать на год по контракту. Мне нужна вакансия lab technician (лаборанта) в лаборатории американского университета или института. Опыт работы - 3 года.
Подскажите, как можно найти такую работу.

Не обязательно - у нас есть знакомая, биолог по специальности, которая тут устроилась как раз на такую должность. Но естественно у нее уже было разрешение на работу, мне кажется сомнительным, чтобы кто-то ради лаборанта стал с визой заморачиваться.
Как она искала - связывалась напрямую с людьми в университете, просто писала письма всем подряд. Но опять-таки, в Вашем случае это вряд ли сработает...Аспирантуру проще найти

Да, дело практически бесперспективное. Лаборанты-то людям нужны, но никаких соображений, которые могли бы кого-то заставить делать визу лаборанту из-за границы я не вижу.

Да, с визои для позиции лаборанта никто возиться не будет, т.к бесполезно. Дла визы надо доказывать что среди местных таких специалистов нет. Такие позиции в большом дефиците и много местних желаюших. К тому же в универах работу лаборантов успешо выполняют студенты. Если конечно вы думаете что лаборант занимается мытьем посуды и подготовкои материалов. На самом деле зачастую лаборант ведет свою тему, поетому требование к нему довольно высокие. Надо искать graduate master/PhD программу. Подозреваю тоже нелегко. Либо делать кандидатскую в России, а потом постдоком в Америку.

Конечно, моей главной целью является поступить на Graduate program (PhD) в хороший университет США. Но в этом году я не смогла зааплаиться, так как TOEFL у меня невысокий был и GRE еще не сдала. В следующем году я конечно же снова буду апплаиться на Graduate program (PhD), но я не хочу терять целый год. Я думаю, было бы здорово поехать поработать technician в США, и заодно там же поступать в универ в аспирантуру.
А насчет того, чтобы делать кандидатскую в России, то это придется тут засесть на 4-8 лет, пока ее не защитишь, а потом только уезжать... Да и еще потом возможно придется свою степень подтверждать в Америке. Я хочу сразу в США на PhD и там же постдоком.
Но чтобы целый год не терять в России, хочу сильно поработать в США, заодно и опыта наберусь.

Я уже три года работаю в Институте биоорганической химии. В дипломе будет написана специальность - биохимик.
Но, я владею не только биохимическими методами, но и методами молекулярной биологии. Что я умею делать:
-выделение и очистка нуклеиновых кислот
-PCR (включая real-time PCR, RT-PCR )
-работа с клетками
-методы молекулярного клонирования
-электрофорезы (белковые и ДНК/РНКовые)
-бисульфитное секвенирование

Девушка, не хочу вас огорчать, но кроме как приехать сюда на учебу у вас мало что получится, а тем более работать при этом.
Учите английский, сдавайте Тоефл и GRE, подавайте документы... дедлайны на учебный год для интернешнл студентов обычно в начале года.
Из моих знакомых кто в универах работают на должности лабаранта - есть химики, физики - все учатся тут на PhD.
Как вы хотите сделать - у вас не получится увы. Это работает с другой стороны - сначала идети на учебу и потом если требуются лаборанты, вас берут, а не работа - а потом учеба.
На такую работу желающих среди студентов всегда много (сужу по своему универу)

Да, в принципе, Вы бы подошли. Но Вам верно говорят, что тут много своих граждан с такими квалификациями. Я бы на Вашем месте поступал на PhD программу. Продайте в какой нибудь универ попроще. Потом, если захотите, перейдете в другой. Хотите - вот хоть к нам подавайте (Boston College). Не top 10, конечно, но вполне неплохой универ. Лучшего места для биолога, чем Бостон в этой стране нет.

The Center for Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Oregon currently has an opening for a full time Research Assistant to work on a project in the area of microbial ecology. The NSF-funded project is focused on exploring the global biogeography of microorganisms (see project summary below). The successful candidate will gain experience working with an interdisciplinary team developing new approaches to understanding microbial diversity--approaches that draw upon molecular microbial ecology, ecological and molecular data analysis, and theoretical ecology. The position is available immediately for one year, with the possibility of extension dependent on funding and satisfactory performance. Project summary: Microorganisms comprise much of Earth's biodiversity and play critical roles in biogeochemical cycling and ecosystem functioning, yet little is known about their spatial distribution. We are using beta-diversity analyses as a theoretical tool to answer questions about the relative importance of dispersal history and environmental heterogeneity in controlling the spatial scaling of microbial diversity. We are determining microbial beta-diversity patterns by generating a spatially-explicit set of microbial diversity data, sampled on a global scale. These data are have been generated by surveying soils in the Mediterranean-climate regions of California, Chile, South Africa, and Australia, using molecular methods for microbial community characterization. A variety of statistical tools are being applied to this data set in order to determine the relative importance of the different processes generating and maintaining microbial beta-diversity, and how these processes vary with region, spatial scale and taxonomic resolution.

Come join the department in the study of the molecular mechanism underlying brain development and adult neural stem cell using mouse genetics and cell biology to better understand the causes of developmental disabilities such as epilepsy, learning disabilities, autism and mental retardation.
POSITION KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Under close supervision, conducts research activities according to research protocol. Research activities may include some or all of the following: 30% of effort: mouse colony management (genotyping, setting up breeding, tailing and weaning and plugging) 20% of effort: molecular biology technique (making solution, Plasmid DNA preparation and cloning), histology (tissue section) and tissue culture. 10% of effort: organize lab stocks
2. Collects, evaluates, and interprets research data to provide needed information to principal investigators and other researchers. Updates databases as needed.
3. Complies with all governmental and University policies, rules, regulations, and codes.
4. Performs other duties as assigned.
Organizational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in one of the basic sciences or relevant experience in lieu of education. No experience is required with a Bachelor's degree. General Knowledge of research fields.

Animal training will be required and training will be done in UTHSC upon hiring.

The Division of Immunology and Rheumatology is seeking a Life Science Research Assistant to perform cutting edge, interdisciplinary research under direct supervision of a highly experienced scientist.The incumbent will serve as lab manager and participate in life science research by coordinating and processing clinical samples, performing experiments, analyzing and interpreting results, and helping to maintain the laboratory for an interdisciplinary research project. The position reports to a Faculty member. The incumbent will have a roll in sample processing, conducting experiments and analyzing and interpreting data will require him/her to resolve questions about unexpected results, assess the accuracy of data that is gathered, determine whether or not results are consistent with expectations, verify that protocols were followed appropriately, and understand when to ask supervisor for help or when to proceed independently. The incumbent will interact with various organizations throughout the Medicine, including the PI's lab members, other labs in Immunology and the participants in the rheumatic diseases registry. This includes participation in, lab meetings, journal clubs, lecture series and registry organizational meetings. Typical DUTIES include:
1. Apply and evaluate protocols and design SOPs for sample collection and processing. Make recommendations for changes to protocols and experiment design.
2. Process and catalogue clinical samples.
3. Apply and evaluate protocols or design portions of experiments; and execute experiments. Make recommendations for changes to protocols and experiment design.
4. Analyze, interpret and report data
5. Perform standard assays including protein purification, gel and capillary electrophoresis, FPLC, phosphoflow, FACS, western blotting, and ELISA.

Автору и помогают абсолютно правильным советом - аспирантура. То, что Вы предлагаете - настолько малореально - Вы, надеюсь, в курсе, куда попадают у профессуры все такие e-mailы? На несколько сотен писем моя подруга получила только один ответ, и не то, чтобы ее так уж с распростертыми обьятиями ждали, там китайские студенты в очереди стоят. Взяли только потому, что разрешение на работу было, да и человек уже с PhD - начальник понимал, что от нее будет побольше толку, чем от китайских лаборантов. Чтобы универ на такую должность раскошелился на Н1В человеку из Москвы - вообще звучит фантастически, и автор должна это четко представлять, прежде чем тратить время на рассылку тысячи писем. Согласен, что J-1 более реальнии и бистрии вариант.

На другом форуме год назад один врач в хирургическои интернатуре из России решил искать место в биохимическои лаборатории в штатах. Не знал как искать и что писать - полнии ноль. Помогли советами. Нашел через 2-3 месяца по е-маил/интернет, прошел телефонное интервиу, взяли на работу по J-1. Лаборатория иммуно-биохимическая. Никакого опита лабораторнои работи у него не било. Университет в Miami, FL.
Кто хочет, тот добьется, а агитировать человека как ему жизнь планировать - я уже писал - замуж надо, детеи рожать, но он сам решит, что ему делать.

Вот и мне кажется, что Университет не будет заморачиваться с H1B or even J1, для найма техника на ОДИН год. Зачем? Задача техника в лаборатории обеспечивать эксперимент и это явно long term commitment.
