Тем более на головном канадском сайте не нашел никаких новостей про это - только в косвенных источниках в инете.

Они разослали письма аккаунт холдерам месяц назад. Да, закрывается branch, но кредитки останутся.

I can only guess why Citibank Canada is closing their retail operations:
The unit might be unprofitable as they have too many deposits and not enough loans, or simply not enough business to justify their overhead;
When first created Citibank Canada offered superior savings rates, and their current 0.75% rate is perhaps average, certainly not superior, so it's hardly a surprise they might be losing business;
It's likely Citibank can cheaply fund their Canadian needs with U.S. bank deposits;
They are the only Canadian bank which accepts non-resident deposits without a Canadian mailing address, so perhaps someone doesn't like that;
There has been no indication that the much larger Citibank Australia unit will be closed, and they continue to spin-out a constant stream of new products, unlike the sleepy operation in Toronto.
