I am sorry for asking in English here, but it is just easier than translit.
I live in US with a GC and still have to wait 1.5 years before I can apply for a citizenship. I fell in love (weird, but apparently this happens with a russian girl who lives in Germany now. She lived here for 15 years with her parents, got a PhD here, and works in a small biotech company (she does not own anything in Germany, only a job contract and apartment lease). She does not have a German passport, just a work visa (her parents have permanent visas here). I am assuming it will be pretty easy for her to get a tourist visa to US? She does not plan to quit her job here only because she met me and move to US right away (we don't have this option now anyway). For some reason I was always thinking that they give US tourist visas for 5 years or so with multiple entries, with 3 months stay each time. Am I correct?
thank you

She should be fine...Everyone in my family got B visa in Switzerland and there were no issues. They will want to see some sort of German residency permit / work visa / blue card etc. It's not recommended to stay over 6 months on tourist visa per year.
Best Wishes,
Andy

Это сроки виз зависят от гражданства заявителя.Mountain Man wrote:For some reason I was always thinking that they give US tourist visas for 5 years or so with multiple entries, with 3 months stay each time. Am I correct?

She is now stuck on administrative processing (because she has a PhD in Biochemistry, most probably). Does anyone here have experience with this? How long does it usually take? It has already been about a month since the start of the administrative processing.

I wouldn't be worried next month as well.
