в моей конторе набирают на позиции Sr. Data Engineer(Hadoop и прочее) и Sr. Java BackEnd Engineer, Sr. Ruby engineers.
Есть также более junior вакансии типа Analyst для college grads и прочее (но по этим позициям мне надо дополнительно узнать - кому надо дайте знать)

по поводу H1b - трансфер сделают если кандидат будет выделяться. новую H1b - как мне сегодня сказал мой менеджер вопрос обсуждаем
если кандидат outstanding (типа крутой) - но это скорей для Sr. Data Engineer (потому что конторе их сложней найти). А место в квоте еще есть ?
Зарплата - в зависимости от опыта. Я прямо спросил что люди будут интересоваться цифрой 150к и больше - ответ был - да, но зависит от опыта.
Местоположение - до 1 июля 2015 в Palo Alto CA. с 1 июля обещают переезд в новый офис на Castro Street Mountain View CA.
Есть еще филиал в Oakland, CA. Но возможно придется большинство время проводить в palo alto/mountain view.
есть люди которым удалось договориться на удаленку - они приезжают в офис на несколько дней в 1-2 мес (но из США) - но тут я не знаю.
один день (четверг) разрешается работать из дома.

ниже приложу описание вакансий. я на позиции Sr. Software Engineer Java Backend. если в описании что-то не знаете думаю не очень
большая проблема - можно все равно попробовать. что-то можно дотянуть/подучить уже в работе (пока что я не заметил мега жесткого отношения). что-то я могу попробовать подготовить к собеседованию - заинтересован в расширении количество белых, потому что очень много собеседуются индусы
на Sr. Data Engineer тоже самое, если что-то не знаете можно пробовать (менеджер сказал что допускает кандидатов со средним уровнем знаний -), но тут я не знаю какие вопросы задают на собеседовании. TEch Lead который проводит собеседования был Big Data Evangelist (TCP Master) в HP 3 года и имеет патенты по данной тематике.

прочее. ----
* контора стартап - на днях было Series C. кол-во народу 100 чел.
* страховки имеются - BlueShield PPO, Kaiser Platinum HMO, VSP, Guardian DEntal, 401 план или какой-то paychecx
* отпуск - unlimited PTO (как мне объяснили договариваешся с менеджером что работаеш какое-то время удаленно или отпуск и если он отпускает едеш). я пока этой опцией не пользовался.
* ходят слухи есть бонусы (и лишение бонусов если на 360 review кто-то тобой не очень доволен) по результатам review - но тут я точно не знаю.
* есть русское community - человек 7-8.
* индусы есть. по пока они мне не кажутся агрессивными. много белых американцев.
* обстановка - пока дружелюбная, Я задаю много вопросов по специфике проекта - мне все отвечают, несмотря на загруженность.
* сам я работаю в конторе с конца апреля 2015 - меня пока не прессуют. review каждые 3 мес. 1 раз в 6 мес серьезное review.
* дают MacBook Pro в пользование

- я не великий Big Data engineer чтобы оценить его реальный уровень. но думаю что-то он стоит. 25 лет опыта в bay area. много работал на lead, engineering manager должностях в IBM ,HP и прочее.
- TCP Master это типа title такой, как он уверяет довольно высокий.
