Report: Blast rocks Uzbek capital
TASHKENT, Uzbekistan -- An explosion has rocked the Uzbek capital of Tashkent, a Russian news agency reported, in a fourth straight day of violence in the Central Asian country.
Interfax, quoting an unidentified source, said Wednesday's blast occurred in the Sabir-Rakhimovski district of the city.
It said the explosion resulted in casualties, but details were not immediately available.
Officials in Tashkent were not able to comment on the report, Reuters said.
Earlier Wednesday, a news agency reported that Uzbekistan authorities have detained 30 people in connection with attacks in the former Soviet republic that have left at least 42 dead.
