Our next generation Data Collection and Event Correlation Platform is designed and is currently being built to store and analyze petabytes of data. The system supports querying stored data both interactively and in batch mode.

As a Core Backend Developer working on the Platform you will be responsible for the design and development of various components of the system. The vast majority of backend components are developed in-house so technical problems you will be facing are going to be challenging. They will range from analyzing and optimizing user queries behind the scenes, to designing components for near-real time sharing of resources of our multi-tenant cluster in a fair manner, and making sure that the constant stream of data originating from clients is indexed and is reliably stored.
We expect the successful candidate to be well versed in C/C++ as well as be familiar with at least one scripting language.

Required skills:
- C/C++ with strong emphasis on C development
- Experience with at least on scripting language (Bash, Python, or Perl)
- Strong experience in developing on Linux platform
- Strong system, network, socket programming and inter-process communication skills
- Deep understanding of network protocols and their applicability to different applications
- Ability to design tests for complex, multi-tiered networking systems
- Ability to brainstorm well with other developers and give and take constructive feedback
- Great verbal and written communication skills

Desired skills:

- Experience with functional programming languages, ideally Erlang (would be greatly appreciated, but not expected)
- Experience of developing distributed systems
- Strong database skills (relational and NoSQL)
- Familiarity with regulations such as PCI
- Ability to evaluate and make a recommendation on the technologies and tools best suited for a particular problem

Понятно. Это они креативно отделили "отпуск" от PTO. Или просто Sick days переименовали в PTO.
