SNMP addressing question

Privet, (pardon my french)

I'm trying to draw up a MIB to describe application's messages.
Is there any rule/agreement about choosing the "root" number of my hierarchy, which will be used to plug it into "enterprises" (1.3.6.4.1) tree? How the uniqueness being guaranteed in such cases?
