So I guess none of those credits from both Universities included a math class?
To calculate your average GPA, you need to calculate the weighted average of your grades. For example, if you have a 2.5 GPA in 1st University with 40 credit hours and 3.2 GPA in 2nd University with 50 credit hours you would do it like this:
((2.5 X 40) + (3.2 X 50))/(40+50)
As Janya said, you probably don't need to do this. I've never heard of anyone requesting you to average GPA between two different schools. They are probably asking you for a GPA from the latest school, or from a school that granted you a degree. Cumulative GPA means the overall GPA in all of your classes in one school.

Ouch! But thanks for the reply, though. It is what I needed. I knew how to count GPA for one school, course-by-course, but wan't sure about 2 different schools. And yes, the paper I need to fill out says this: "Your cumulative GPA (all course work from all colleges/universities"
