can you clarify what do you mean when you say "have someone you know to help you out". Do you mean like another lawyer or something else?

transactional in this context means that you don't go to court but rather spend most of your time writing documents (e.g., residential real estate sale contract and riders, HUD-1 closing statement, etc. in the RE practice), and some of your time talking to clients. Usually, a flat fee arrangement would apply (although exceptions are possible). Also, there are at least two important sides of the practice which are generally non-billable: (a) looking for new business, and (b) collections.
